This nicho is very unique - I think it is one of our masterpieces! We have been working on bringing out the essence of traditional Mexican folk art - and we definitely like to mix the elements together. This is a Frida and Diego nicho - and we did one once before and a very inspired Frida art collector got it, and then we saw that someone else had one up for sale - but we don’t care about that, because no one is going to match our style and our inspiration. That is because the spirits of Frida and Diego inspire us and protect us, because they know that we are properly paying homage to them.

This is a copy of Frida's and Diego's actual wedding portrait.

The milagros are not just stuck on there in some haphazard fashion. They help tell the story. There is the milagro of the woman and the milagro of the boy child. The heart represents their love. Frida and Diego had this rather kinky sounding fantasy that he was a little boy and she was his mother. That is the idea. While Frida is looking at Diego, as if she is thinking about him and directing her energies in his direction (with the milagros), he is staring ahead as if directing his own attentions towards the world and not towards Frida.

These are not quality prints - this is simply a decorator item, and not an authentic piece of historical significance.

These pieces are made with recycled wood - Mexican fruit crates - or “rejas” as they are called.
