The restaurant “La Poblana” is located on Calle Juarez, in downtown Ojinaga, right around the corner from the town square and right in front of Fausto’s Art Gallery.
Inexpensive, unpretentious, clean, bright, and with tasty, home style cooking, it has been one our favorites for years now. Their slogan is their “Family Atmosphere”, and this is indeed one restaurant that is probably the number one favorite of the local people here, and from the people from the rural areas - the “ranchos” - who visit Ojinaga regularly.
Open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM seven days a week, there is fresh menudo daily, and “comida corrida”, which is a two course meal featuring a type of vegetable beef soup known as “caldo”, followed by another plate known as the “guisado”. This is tasty, filling, and cheap! For picnickers and people who want something “to go”, they sell kilos of barbacoa or asado for 60 pesos (about six bucks).
