HERE ARE SOME DESCRIPTIONS of the places you might stay and visit on the tour packages offered on this site

The Hotel San Francisco is located in the heart of Downtown Chihuahua, just a half block from the principal square, where the 16th century Cathedral and Palacio del Gobierno shine their stately glory in the tropical sun. Hotel San Francisco offers 140 rooms with all the modern comforts, including satellite TV,  room service, a coffee shop, and one of Chihuahua's finest restaurants. Shopping and sightseeing are all within walking distance.

In the town of Creel, Hotel Margaritas has every kind of creature comfort imaginable, as you enjoy your stay in the informal capital of the Sierra Tarahumara, where the Tarahumara Indians who give their name to the region populate the streets and sell their unique crafts to visitors.

Historic Hotel Mansion Tarahumara in Divisadero offers majestic viewing of the Copper Canyon from the rim above all the way to the canyon floor 7,000 feet below. All the modern accommodations that you will need are right there at your fingertips.

In El Fuerte, one of the most majestic stops in the basin of the Copper Canyon, Hotel Posada del Hidalgo offers all the modern accommodations for your creature comforts as you enjoy your stay there.

The Hotel Santa Anita in Los Mochis offers the finest that the city has to offer, set in the tropics on the coast, right next door to the fabulous Bay of Topolobampo, where dolphins romp and pelicans dive off of rocks around the rim of the bay into the deep tropical waters. Pristine beaches are nearby, for your enjoyment.

What we refer to as "Copper Canyon" is really a series of canyons which drain the western side of the Sierra Tarahumara. The entire Copper Canyon region comprises almost a third of the state of Chihuahua, which is Mexico's largest state. The principal canyon is Urique Canyon, which is the one which is traversed by the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad. Eventually, all of the rivers which formed the Copper Canyons merge into the Rio Fuerte which continues across the adjacent state of Sinaloa, emerging near the City of Los Mochis on the Sea of Cortez.

The town of Creel, located in the heights of the Sierra Tarahumara, is like an Indian capital, being the center of the extensive Tarahumara region, where the largest and most primitive tribe of Indians in North America have lived since long before the arrival of the Spaniards in the early 16th century. They preserve a way of life that dates back to prehistory, and they make and sell unique arts and crafts items, recognizable by their style as being apart from any other.

The town of Divisadero is located on the rim of Urique Canyon, and one can stand on the rim and see the majestic canyon beyond, whose canyon floor is an incredible 7,000 foot drop in altitude. Tarahumara Indians spread their wares out to sell to tourists near the train stop.

El Fuerte is located down in the tropics across the state line in Sinaloa and is lush and green . It offers a stunning contrast to the pine covered highlands of the lands above the canyons, as it is surrounded by a tropical jungle, where parrots roost in exotic foliage and chameleons crawl across the rocks. A small but exotic colonial city, this is where the Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca first encountered Spaniards after his seven year trek through the uncharted wilderness.

All in all, Copper Canyon is without a doubt one of the most exotic vacation spots in the world, but very accessible and economical.
