Fausto's Art Gallery - The only place to shop in Ojinaga which is actually geared to the wants and the tastes of Americans. Features everything from fine art produced by the talented artists of the region to furniture and decorator items in the "Southwest" style. Also plenty of traditional items popular with tourists, such as the puppets on a string, the Indian made baskets and pottery, drums, blankets, wall hangings, and collectables. English spoken. Maps of Ojinaga available. On Calle Juarez, one and a half  blocks from the town square. Checks accepted.

Comercio Rio Grande - This store has a little of everything, including lots of artesanias (souvenirs and such), pottery and collectibles. Has some of the best prices of the things it carries, good place to get the popular papier-mache figurines at give-away prices. Located on Calle Juarez at the corner of Trasvina y Retes.

El Paraiso - Right across the street from the town square on Trasvina y Retes, hats, belts, sombreros, boots, clothing, Mexican sarapes and blankets, Mexican jewelry.

Joyeria Rocha - Mexican jewelry. On Calle Allende one and a half blocks east of the town square. English spoken.

Casa Edma - Located in their "mini-mall" between Calle Allende and Calle Juarez, a few doors down from the corner of Trasvina y Retes, clothing shoes, boots, collectibles, jewelry, belts, wallets.

Mueblería Central - Great prices on furniture. Across the street from Manuel Ojinaga Park on Calle Allende. Ask about wholesale.

Dentists -

Beronica Perez Holman - Ojinaga's most popular dentist with tourists and with patients from the American side of the border. Speaks the best English of any Ojinaga dentist. Save an average of two thirds on most procedures. Really big savings on dentures. Very hygienic, light touch, no pain. Can arrange reimbursement on treatment with your medical insurance. On Calle Juarez Downtown. To call from the US dail 011-52-626-453-0505.

Francisco Lopez - Also very popular with Americans, speaks fair English. Very professional. Calle Juarez.

Rebeca Olivares - Speaks English, has a lovely clinic. On Bulevar Oscar Flores across the Monument of the Niños Heroes.

Pharmacies -

Farmacia Juarez - Located on Calle Juarez one and a half blocks from the town square, complete line of birth control, blood pressure, diabetes, and general medicines (no controlled substances), owned by Dr. Jose Lara and his wife. Dr. Lara is also a first class medical doctor. Has viagra!

Farmacia FARMATEC - Located one half block South of Bulevar Oscar Flores  and one blacok East of Trasvina y Retes. Complete line of medicines and pharmaceuticals.

Farmacia Santos - Located across from the town square on Calle Allende. Complete line of pharmaceuticals.

Doctors -

Jorge Valdez - General practice, surgery, complete line of test equipment, sonogram, x-rays and laboratory services available at very reasonable cost, ample experience, professional, speaks fair English.

Jose Lara - On Calle Juarez, same location as the Farmacia Juarez. General medicine, diabetes, blood pressure. Professional treatment. Bring an interpreter.

Museum - Museo Manual Ojinaga - Formerly the Pancho Villa Museum, located upstairs from the library one block east of the Presidencia on Calle Zaragoza.  Fossils, dinosaur bones, Indian artifacts, memorabilia from the Mexican Revolution. There are often art exhibits downstairs in the lobby.

There are also several private museums in town, featuring mostly fossils and artifacts. You would need a knowledgeable guide and interpreter to see them.

The famous "French Bakery" - The Panaderia "La Francesa", located one block south of the church on the town square, features fresh bread and pastries baked seven times a day in a adobe oven which is heated by a mesquite wood fire. Delicious and cheap. One of the all time favorite spots for tourists.

The murals located in the Presidencia, painted by local artist Luis Roman, who was invited to the Smithsonian Institute to participate in the yearly Folkways Festival there.

Foto Flash - Located one half block south of the Presidencia on Trasviña y Retes, fast and courteous, reasonably priced.

Revelado Pronto - Just across the street from the town square on Allende, fast and economical. Good work.
